Tribal Trust Cup Polo Tournament Raise Money and Awareness for Indigenous People Worldwide
Tribal Trust works in partnership with other non-profit organizations, using their specialized skills to restore economic viability in a selected community, which may include the marketing of indigenous arts and crafts. The incentive we provide to produce indigenous products has two important outcomes: to preserve a traditional way of life, and to provide income, thus validation for an indigenous custom, inspiring the next generation to carry it on.
One of the fundraisers for the foundation is the Women´s Tribal Cup, which will be held at the International Polo Club Palm Beach. It is the largest all-women´s tournament in the world, and is a major fundraiser for the foundation. There are three days of competition for women in beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.
There will be approximately 8-10 teams in each division, with beginner matches on Saturday, February 12th, intermediate matches on Sunday, February 13th, and the advanced 2-4 goal teams will be on Monday, February 14th. The final exhibition match will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday, February 14th.
There are also three levels of sponsorship- Benefactor (Team Sponsors), Patron (Gift Sponsors) and Special Thanks. Well-known companies such as Aston Martin, Bombay Sapphire, Bulgari, Coca-Cola and Tiffany and Co. participated last year as team sponsors. The plane and train manufacturing company, Bombardier, is confirmed for this year as a team sponsor, as is Frederick Fekkai & Co.
The Patron sponsors donate gifts to the players, and there are awards for the Most Valuable Player, Best Pony and Best Sportswoman award for all three categories.
In addition to the polo tournament, there will be an ´Enlightened Heart´ Valentine´s Day Cocktail Party afterwards from 5p.m. to 8 p.m. Organizers are expecting at least 300 people, who will be treated to a key note speaker, an auction, fashion show, and international cocktail buffet. Trophy presentations will also be awarded at the party. The chairwoman for the event is Barbara Savage, president and executive director of the Tribal Trust Foundation.
